Kepanjen Church
Its Genuine name is The Roman Catholic Maiden Santa Maria Birth. In its growth, many mention it as The Roman Catholic of Kepanjen. This Church located in Jl Kepanjen 4-6 Surabaya, do not far from Main Surabaya Post Office and Warrior Monument. More one age century have its. Source in Paroki Kepanjen mentions, it is possible that this is eldest Roman Catholic in Surabaya.
One uniquness of this church is its architecture is dominated by Europe Church pattern. Priests and architects who concerned in this church development, was said, design the lengthwise building from West to East by New Gothic pattern. Started with the first bollard stake at April 12nd 1899, followed by other 790 bollard made from special pine bar conducived to from Europe. After bollard stake finished, at August 19th 1899, PJ van Santen the priest place the first foundation-stone. At the same time with this procession, a tin tube contain the charter written above animal husk (perkamen, Red) was planted.
